NeMLA Summer Fellowships

Fellowships up to $1,200 are intended to defray the cost of traveling incurred by researchers in pursuing their work-in-progress over the summer. 

This program does not provide funding for conference travel, equipment, food, or general office expenses.

Though the Fellowship Program is designed to support untenured junior faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars, this does not preclude senior faculty from applying.

The application materials must be sent electronically to fellowship@nemla.org as MS Word attachments:

• “NeMLA Summer Fellowship” in the subject line.
• A two-page (single-spaced) application that describes the summer project and includes a timeline
• An itemized budget
• Two letters from colleagues in the field on university letterhead, supporting the proposed project.
• CV

The application deadline for the NeMLA Summer Fellowship is February 6.

• All applicants must be NeMLA members at the time of application.
• Applicants must not have received a NeMLA Summer Fellowship within the past three years.

• After completing travel during the summer, the Fellow should submit their digital poster, receipts, and completed Summer Fellowship reimbursement form by December 31.
• Upon receipt of the Fellow's digital poster and documents, payment will be made by mail or at the Membership Brunch held at the upcoming Annual Convention.
  
• Acknowledgement of the NeMLA Summer Fellowship grant must be included in any publication resulting from the sponsored research.
