Business Meetings

Join NeMLA members who advocate for contingent, adjunct, or independent scholars and faculty at two-year institutions to discuss the business and goals of the CAITY Caucus. Topics include panels, speakers, and continuing to advocate for members on topics including pedagogy, unionizing, and non-traditional career paths. 

The CAITY Business Meeting takes place on Thursday, the opening day of the convention, at 6 PM.

The Graduate Student Caucus invites you to discuss how NeMLA can better serve its graduate student members. At our business meeting, we will discuss sessions the GSC might propose, graduate student experience at the Convention, what we can do during the rest of the year to advocate and keep you informed, and opportunities for you to get involved. We welcome agenda additions via email! 

The GSC Business Meeting takes place on Thursday, the opening day of the convention, at 6 PM.

The Women's and Gender Studies Caucus welcomes current as well as prospective members. The agenda includes suggestions for future speakers and topics at NeMLA conferences, as well as nominations for Caucus officer positions. 

The meeting includes the Women's and Gender Studies Mentorship Program Meeting.

The WGSC Business Meeting takes place on Saturday, the third day of the convention, at 9 AM, following the WGSC Publishing Mentoring Breakfast at 8 AM.

Open to all members. The membership meeting is where we

• announce our Essay and Book Award winners
• honor our fellowship winners
• thank outgoing Board directors and welcome incoming ones
• share flyers and posters for the Call for Session Proposals for our next convention
• have our members vote on issues or changes to the bylaws when necessary
• conclude with a Brunch, which allows all members to converse and network.
