NeMLA proudly sponsors the publication of two journals dedicated to the production of award-winning scholarship. Both journals that have produced insightful contributions to scholarship and enlightened readers for more than thirty years.
Modern Language Studies is a forum for examining provocative issues in all areas of English, American, and comparative literature, and the literatures of the modern languages.
NeMLA Italian Studies is a refereed journal published by the Italian section of the Northeast Modern Language Association under the sponsorship of NeMLA and The College of New Jersey. NIS promotes the study of Italian culture by publishing critical studies on Italian literature, cinema, culture, linguistics, and language pedagogy. Interdisciplinary and comparative studies are welcome. The journal includes sections dedicated to creative writing in Italian (primarily poetry or short-prose fiction), translations of contemporary and classical works/authors, cultural debates, and interviews. A section of the journal is dedicated to book reviews. NIS welcomes all scholarly methods, critical approaches, and theoretical perspectives.
