The NeMLA C.A.I.T.Y. Caucus welcomes members allied with the concerns of scholars whose work in higher education extends outside tenure-track positions at four-year institutions. The Caucus organizes panels and fosters communication networks among diverse faculty on such topics as pedagogy, balancing research and multiple commitments, and non-traditional career paths in academe.

The Diversity Committee has been created to facilitate discussion among NeMLA members about issues of diversity, especially as related to academic life. The continued growth of NeMLA brings challenges and opportunities to address the needs of its membership. This group offers a space to identify those needs, bring about conversations between members with shared interest, and develop NeMLA sessions and initiatives. The NeMLA Graduate Student Caucus welcomes participation by all NeMLA members who are pursuing a graduate degree. The Caucus offers graduate students an arena in which to socialize, share ideas, and learn about some of the professional demands of an academic career—such as publishing, delivering conference papers, writing grant proposals, and going on job interviews.

The NeMLA Women’s and Gender Studies Caucus welcomes members interested in feminist scholarship, women’s studies, and the status of women in the profession. The Caucus organizes panels, promotes publication, and fosters the establishment of networks linking senior and junior faculty. CONCERNS, the quarterly journal of WCML, contains scholarly articles, personal essays, news of conferences, research in progress, and jobs.
